Meet Sallyann

Two of the most important qualities in a good counsellor are their authenticity and their ability to build safe, trusting relationships with people. Having had a professional career in marketing, and then taking a break to have children, I found myself engaging in my own therapy. This led me to study psychology and counselling, and embark on a career as a counsellor. Today, I love working with others to ensure they feel seen, heard and understood. With the focus on you and your needs, I offer a confidential space for you to discover your own potential, and to work towards making meaningful change so that you can live a more fulfilling life.

Born and raised in Ireland, and having called Perth home for the past 26 years, I am married with two adult children. I hold a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Counselling, and I draw upon evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Compassion-Focussed Therapy. As a registered counsellor with over 15 years experience, I have worked predominantly in the mental health and family violence sectors. I have a special interest in religious and spiritual abuse and trauma, and in working with people who are questioning their beliefs or have left a high control religious group. I am also an accredited Professional Supervisor, qualified to provide clinical supervision to other counsellors (training endorsed by PACFA and the Australian Counselling Association).
